Windjammer 412
3 BR | 2 Full Baths | Sleeps 7 | Ocean View
Where you'll be
Description
There's plenty more to enjoy as well, of course: a private walkway to the sugary white sands of St. Augustine Beach, a fenced-in swimming pool, lighted tennis courts. You can stroll to Windjammer's private pier on the famed Intracoastal, where you can launch a kayak or fish for flounder or trout--which you can grill on the complex's outdoor barbecue.
Believe it or not, all that's within walking distance. Once you hop in your car, you're just minutes from historic St. Augustine and Marineland, not to mention plenty of restaurants, shops, and golf courses. Even the Orlando theme parks are only a day trip away.
Despite all the sights and outdoor activities at your disposal, you do have to come indoors sometimes, and Windjammer 412 is a lovely place to come home to. A penthouse unit in an elevator building, it's recently been updated. Among the new furnishings are the chairs and tables on the deck, which is large enough for you to dine alfresco (after all, the salt-scented ocean breeze makes everything taste better!).
The deck opens onto the living room, which is elegantly furnished with plush seating you'll love sinking into. There's plenty of room for everyone to kick back and watch a movie on the large HDTV, surf the web via our free wifi, play a game of cards, or settle in with a good book.
The dining area is just beyond the living area. Beneath a sparkling chandelier is a spacious table with padded chairs designed for lingering long after the meal is over. Should you need more room--or should the kids want to sit away from the adults--there's a breakfast bar with counter stools just behind the table.
Where there's a breakfast bar, there's a kitchen, and ours is stocked with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you need, whether you're cooking a Thanksgiving feast or simply warming up leftovers from the previous evening's restaurant dinner.
To make the most of all the activities at your disposal, you need a good night's sleep. Windjammer 412's bedrooms all but guarantee pleasant dreams. The primary suite is palatial, with a king-size bed, an en-suite bath, an HDTV and, perhaps best of all, doors that lead out onto the deck. In fact, you can gaze out at the Atlantic without leaving the bed! At least one morning you should set your alarm just so that you can relish the sun rise while propped up on your pillows.
The second bedroom has its own gorgeous view, this time of the Intracoastal-and yes, you can watch the boats sail past from the comfort of its full-size bed. Talk about luxury! The third bedroom, which has a queen-size bed and a twin bed, looks out onto the Intracoastal as well. Both rooms are prime spots for watching sunsets. These bedrooms share the second bathroom. Linens, towels, and plenty of blankets and pillows are provided, and the unit has its own washer and dryer, so you can pack light.
It's tough for us to single out what we love most about Windjammer 412: having the beach as our backyard, the swimming pool surrounded by leafy palm trees, the Intracoastal only a short walk away, the front-row view of spectacular sunrises and sunsets. See for yourself; book your reservation today!

Bring your own beach/pool towels, small shower stalls, don't expect it to be pristine.

You are paying for a 4-star level property and receiving a 2-star level property. Yes, the space is as pictured but it is in need of serious cleaning and updating. The beach can't be used after dusk due to turtle nesting (OK, no problem). However, the pool can't be used either and it faces the highway not the beach. So your kids have nothing to do after 8:00PM. If I knew that, I would not have chosen this location as we are a multi-generational family and don't expect to go to bed at 9:00PM.

We stayed three weeks and enjoyed our stay. Once you are there for a couple of days, you look past the small showers with no doors, lack of kitchen supplies, and kitchen tile coming up. I mention these for the management to look at. There were no wineglasses so, we drank our evening wine from coffee mugs. The tvs are outdated but, if you disconnect the cable you can use your fire stick in its place. For the money we paid, I expected higher quality. We would rent it again because the location and views are breathtaking.
